Role Purpose In this role, you will maintain restaurant compliance to security and safety policies and procedures through regular on-site evaluations. You will also respond to incidents of crime in the area and participate with local law enforcement agencies in investigations. Responsibilities Visit restaurants and document results to monitor compliance with safety and security policies and procedures. Review results with Director of Loss Prevention, Market Director, and Area Supervisor. Respond to incidents of crime or potential internal issues, coordinate investigations, and provide support for colleagues and customers. Investigate incidents in a timely manner; prepare criminal loss reports and investigation summaries; inform the Director of Loss Prevention. Submit criminal loss weekly and period-end reports to the Director of Loss Prevention, Market Directors and Zone Vice President. Follow up on incidents by aiding colleagues in the criminal justice process and maintain contact with colleagues and agencies as necessary to complete investigations. Maintain accurate documents on all investigations until the file is completed and the incident is closed. Recover restitution voluntarily or through court order. Attend manager meetings and coordinate monthly classroom instruction sessions with Recruiter/Trainer to present Loss Prevention programs. Investigate foreign object reports and communicate findings with Risk Management. Investigate and enforce all cash management related issues. Conduct regular market visits. Investigate other incidents as directed (e.g., sexual harassment, accidents). Identify restaurants in need of special security equipment; install and maintain such equipment (e.g., CCTV, alarms). Establish and maintain professional relationships with law enforcement agencies and area crime prevention professionals. Perform minor repairs and develop a preventative maintenance plan for restaurant safes. Attend Loss Prevention–oriented conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay abreast of innovations and technology. Communicate with other departments and external contacts as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum five (5) years of experience in a multi-unit retail or restaurant loss prevention manager role, or five plus years of experience with a public law enforcement agency. Strong working knowledge of criminal and civil codes related to private sector security policies and procedures. Ability to travel extensively (up to 75%). Strong supervisory and training ability. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Experience and/or training in interview and interrogation. Valid operator’s license, automobile insurance as a primary driver, and reliable transportation to carry out essential job functions, in accordance with company policy. Must pass a criminal background check and periodic checks thereafter. Willing and able to work evenings and weekends. Must possess a valid credit card in own name. On-call 24 hours a day. Preferred/What Will Make You Stand Out Bachelor’s degree in security management or criminal justice. Demonstrated supervisory and training ability. Working knowledge of retail/restaurant point-of-sale systems. College-level coursework and professional training in security management or criminal justice. Experience in restaurant operations and management. Working Conditions Travel-related exposure (air travel and automobile travel).
