Buffalo, NY. Flat 12 Mushrooms. SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER. FT. W-Sun. $18-$21/hr. WNDOE

As our Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for building and executing a content

strategy that captures the unique energy of our farm, educates our community, and drives engagement across platforms. You'll manage day-to-day posting, community interactions, and content creation, while helping define and evolve the brand voice.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

Manage and grow our presence across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and potentially Pinterest/Threads) Develop and maintain a consistent content calendar aligned with the farms seasonal rhythms, product launches, and events Write engaging, on-brand captions and post copy that blend education, storytelling, and fun Capture high-quality photos and videos (or work with our team/photographers) to showcase the farm, mushrooms, products, and people Use trends in a way that aligns with our brand and values (no dancing required but appreciated)

Strategy & Analytics

Develop a social media strategy to support business goals (e.g., traffic, sales, education, brand awareness) Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth, etc.) Make data-driven adjustments to improve content performance and community engagement

Community Engagement

Respond to DMs and comments in a timely and thoughtful way Cultivate relationships with customers, local foodies, content creators, and mushroom enthusiasts Help grow an online community that's curious, inspired, and connected

Collaboration

Coordinate with the farm and retail manager for product updates, promotions, events, and storytelling opportunities Support seasonal campaigns, pop-ups, farmers markets, or workshops with content coverage and promotion Contribute to occasional cross-channel content (email, blog, or web)

Qualifications

2+ years managing social media accounts for a business, brand, or personal project Strong understanding of content strategy, social media best practices, and platform algorithms Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills (especially short-form) Strong visual sense you don't need to be a professional photographer, but you know how to frame a good shot Experience with basic content creation tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar) Passion for sustainability, mushrooms, farming, food, or wellness

Preferred Skills:

Video editing experience (for Reels, TikToks, and short-form tutorials) Email marketing or basic design (Mailchimp, Substack, etc.)
