Stryker Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Colorado Springs, CO

Contract Position

Pay Rate: $35.49 hourly

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) and troubleshooting on Stryker vehicle systems.

• Diagnose and repair faults in automotive systems including engine , transmission , cooling , fuel , exhaust , driveline , and suspension using:

  • Built-In Test Equipment (BITE)

  • Manual Troubleshooting Procedures (MTPs)

  • Special/common tools and technical manuals

• Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in hydraulic systems , both common and variant-specific to Stryker platforms.

• Disassemble, remove, replace, and reassemble subsystems , Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) , and other components.

• Read and interpret diagnostic flow diagrams , schematics, and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) .

• Complete required maintenance documentation , logbooks , and administrative forms.

• Maintain accountability of test equipment , tools , and property.

• Operate Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technical software.

Qualifications:

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent required ; Associate’s degree or technical school certification preferred

• Clearance : Must be a U.S. person and able to gain and maintain access to military facilities

• Experience : 1–3 years of relevant mechanical, vehicle, or military maintenance experience

• Technical Expertise :

  • Proficient in vehicle systems diagnostics and repair procedures

  • Ability to identify parts using IETMs , schematics, and based on vehicle configuration

  • Familiarity with military vehicle components , especially turret systems and LRUs

  • Knowledge of General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) platforms, products, and terminology is a plus

• Certifications : Documented trade school , technical training , or commercial certifications

• Licenses : Valid state driver’s license ; must be able to obtain tank driver’s license if required

• Systems Knowledge : Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based diagnostic tools

• Must meet and maintain ASR (Authorized Service Representative) requirements
