Location: Aspen, CO or Carbondale, CO
Job Type: Year Round, Possible 4 day - 10 hour shifts

WE-cycle is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community bike sharing program. WE-cycle seeks to transform the Roaring Fork Valley's landscape into one that prioritizes bicycles over vehicles, replaces traffic congestion with vibrancy, improves our visitor experience and retention, and demonstrates innovation and leadership.

Position Overview

The Bikeshare Technician is essential to maintaining the functionality, safety, and efficiency of the WE-cycle system. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position ensures proper bike distribution, performs technical repairs, and maintains station operations. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to support system-wide efficiency.

Core ResponsibilitiesBike & Fleet Management

• Relocate WE-cycle fleet bikes using e-bikes or company vehicles to ensure even distribution and availability at stations.
  
• Perform system-wide bike maintenance, including repairs and preventative servicing.
  
• Maintain high safety and operational standards for pedal bikes, e-bikes, and e-balancing bikes.
  
• Complete necessary repairs on both pedal and e-bikes to ensure optimal performance.
  

Station & System Maintenance

• Conduct regular station maintenance to ensure functionality and a clean, professional presentation.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to offline stations, broken docking points, or cellular connectivity.
  
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of stations to uphold operational standards.
  
• Complete field maintenance and cleaning of bicycles as needed.
  

Technical Proficiency & Communication

• Maintain proficiency and accountability in all WE-cycle technical and software platforms.
  
• Effectively communicate with the Management Team regarding system issues, maintenance needs, and operational improvements.
  
• Provide responsive and helpful rider support, both in person and over the phone, ensuring a positive user experience.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform bike and e-bike repairs.
  
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
  
• Strong communication skills for coordination with team members and rider assistance.
  
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high operational standards.
  
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  
• Valid drivers license required for fleet relocation tasks.
  

Work Environment & Expectations

• Hands-on, field-based role requiring mobility and physical activity.
  
• Some evening, weekend, or on-call work may be required.
  
• Opportunities for skill development and career growth within the WE-cycle team.
  
• The standard schedule for this position consists of four 10-hour shifts, scheduled from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including one weekend day each week. However, scheduling may vary based on operational needs, workload fluctuations, and organizational requirements. Flexibility may be required, including potential adjustments to scheduled days and hours to accommodate business demands.
