Job Description

Social Media Manager

Location: Hybrid – Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA (with travel to ~1 event per month)
Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000 annually

About DanceOne

DanceOne is a leading dance entertainment and education company, bringing together premier tours, competitions, and events under one umbrella. We are passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers, educators, and creatives, while showcasing excellence in performance, artistry, and community.

We are building our first in-house social media function and are seeking a Social Media Manager to shape and lead our brand presence across platforms. This is a highly visible, foundational role with significant growth opportunities.

Role Overview

The Social Media Manager will own DanceOne’s social media strategy, with an initial focus on creating consistent, engaging content for Instagram and growing our YouTube channel. You’ll manage day-to-day planning, posting, analytics, and community engagement while collaborating with content creators, consultants, and company leadership.

As the role grows, you will expand our reach across TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, and emerging platforms—building scalable systems and eventually mentoring a growing social media team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute social media strategy for Instagram and YouTube.

  • Build and manage content calendars aligned with campaigns, events, and partnerships.

  • Monitor platform trends and identify opportunities for growth.

Content Creation & Execution

  • Partner with content creators, videographers, and designers to produce high-quality assets.

  • Write, schedule, and publish posts (Instagram feed, Reels, Stories; YouTube long-form & Shorts).

  • Ensure content reflects DanceOne’s brand voice and the culture of the dance industry.

Community & Engagement

  • Manage comments, DMs, and online engagement to foster a positive, active community.

  • Highlight dancers, studios, and industry moments in partnership with consultants.

  • Build influencer and partner relationships to expand reach.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track and analyze performance metrics using social analytics tools.

  • Provide monthly reporting with insights and recommendations.

  • Continuously refine strategy to optimize reach, engagement, and conversions.

Leadership & Growth

  • Serve as the point person for all social media at DanceOne.

  • Build scalable processes as the team expands.

  • Mentor future hires and shape the direction of the department.

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel to 1 event per month for on-site content capture.

  • 5–10 years of professional experience managing social media at scale (brand, entertainment, or agency).

  • Strong dance background (professional, competitive, or industry-related).

  • Proven track record in Instagram and YouTube strategy and execution.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.

  • Proficiency with analytics and scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, Google Analytics, Sprout, Later, or similar).

  • Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, creative environment.

  • Self-starter who takes ownership and builds structure from the ground up.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: $85,000 – $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

  • Hybrid work model: Based in Hollywood, Los Angeles, with flexibility.

  • Benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; and holidays.

  • Opportunities for professional development and growth as the social media team expands.

  • A collaborative, creative, and high-energy culture rooted in the passion of the dance world.

Equal Employment Opportunity

DanceOne is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Employment with DanceOne is at-will as defined by California law.
